Yes, mosaic art takes many forms, from the muted classical styles of the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, to the brightly colored contemporary works. You can be an admirer of mosaics, a collector, or a creator. The SAMA website is a wonderful resource to learn about professional mosaicists and the galleries that carry their works. Many artists also do commission works for clients. And there are a lot of wonderful mosaicists who conduct workshops in their own studios and at mosaic schools around the country. Anyone interested in taking mosaic classes can find a lot of offerings in the Resource section of the SAMA website: http://www.americanmosaics.org
